Fishing enthusiasts also handicapping the MLB are slowly counting down the days, until the end of the regular season. With roughly 30 games left in the season, the playoff picture in both the American and National Leagues is becoming abundantly clear. Today, we will be taking a sports betting look at two teams with the best odds to win the World Series, the Milwaukee Brewers and Boston Red Sox. The Boston Red Sox, comparable to NL rival the Philadelphia Phillies; have been a favorite on the futures lines since the offseason. Essentially, after missing the playoffs last season, the Red Sox went out and pretty much revamped their lineup. Boston added Carl Crawford and Bobby Jenks from free agency, before acquiring eventual hall of famer Adrian Gonzalez from the San Diego Padres, for a slew of top prospects. Throughout the season, the Red Sox similar to the Boston Bruins have grown into a powerhouse of a team. Boston has odds of +185 to win the World Series for the third time this decade. On paper and as the win loss record would indicate, Boston has all the talent in the world to get back to the World Series. However, having to play the New York Yankees, Texas Rangers or Detroit Tigers, will be no easy task come playoff time. On the other hand, a team that is making 2011 their year to get to the World Series, are the Milwaukee Brewers. Similar to the Boston Red Sox, the Brewers had a strong offseason, in which they revamped their starting rotation and bullpen. Led by the trio of Zack Greinke, Yovani Gollardo, and Shaun Marcum, the Brewers have the best record in baseball since the end of July. With all-star first baseman Prince Fielder reportedly planning to play elsewhere next season, Milwaukee and their +300 odds should provide good value for bettors taking them to win the World Series. The playoffs in the NL are also quite daunting, as Milwaukee will have to take on two of Philadelphia, Atlanta or Arizona before facing the Boston Red Sox in the finals. |
